How to turn off computer

You have noticed that your computer is frozen and doesn't respond to mouse movements and key presses.
Press and hold power button for about a second and check if the computer shuts down gracefully.
If still no response then press and hold power button until for about 20 seconds it shuts down. Leave comment

How to kill an unresponsive application using Task Manager

Press a key combination Ctrl + Alt + Del. Click on "Task manager".
Click on «Details» tab
Find the application and click on it
Click "End task" button

Select text and press Ctrl + C to copy it to clipboard
Press Ctrl + V to paste the copied text
If you accidentally closed a web browser tab use Ctrl + Shift + T to re-open it
Press Ctrl + Shift + Del to clear cache and cookies for your browser

Setting up scanning to email on an MFP

Task: we want to use «scan to email» function on a multi-function printer (device)
Prerequisites:
If using Microsoft365 email address:
  • Printer must support OAuth
  • Username and password for the Microsoft365 account
  • SMTP Auth enabled on the Microsoft365 account
  • Microsoft365 account must have an associated mailbox
If using gmail-based email address:
  • Enabled MFA for the account
  • Generated application password
  • Details for incoming and outgoing email servers
If using other email address:
  • Details for incoming and outgoing email servers
  • Username and password for the email account
Open web management interface of the printer. Navigate to the «Send to email» section.
If you're using a Microsoft365 account then find OAuth authentication.
If OAuth option is not available then you'll have to oraganize an email relay server
If you're using a google account use the username and fill in application password in the password field.
Make sure you fill in SMTP / IMAP server details and POP3 if applicable.
If there's a way to send a test email then do so. Leave comment

Setting up scanning to a network share on an MFP

Task: we want to use «scan to network share (SMB)» function on a multi-function printer (device)
Prerequisites:
  • Web browser to open the printer management web page
  • Administrator's password for the printer
Open web management interface of the printer. Navigate to the «Scan to network share (SMB)» section.
Fill in IP address of the network file server (NAS).
Fill in the network folder (share) name.
Fill in username
Fill in the password.
If there's a test button then try using it. Leave comment
